The Critique of Chess by Elon Musk
A few days ago, Elon Musk criticised Chess further on Twitter, arguing that it is nothing more than a simple game that will eventually be solved by computers. In the past, he had already expressed his disdain for chess, claiming it was merely a “board game consisting of 64 squares” that lacked “advanced gameplay elements” such as the fog of war. He has now gone further to suggest that chess is inferior because it is completely surpassed by computers.
In my view, that Elon Musk said Chess is inferior because it will be completely solved just like Checkers is just a lack of capacity and of knowledge in intellectual sports. This argument is severely weak, because with such logic, all games, including video games, are all inferior, since they all can be solved by computers, especially AI, which have already mastered many games, which Elon Musk believes to be superior, to a level beyond human reach. If you are literally developing these technologies, you should understand this as well.
